By Road:
Access from Orford Quay, Orford town 10ml E of A12 (B1094/1095), 12ml NE of Woodbridge B1152/1084.
NCN1, 1ml. No cycle parking.
Drop-off for disabled visitors on Orford Quay, car must be returned to car park (150 yards)
Pay and display car park (not National Trust).

By Public Transport:
From Melton station it is 11 miles to Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (National Trust).

Parking : with charge

Nearest station : 8 miles (12.9 kms) from Wickham Market station

Charge for ferry (inc. NT members). Boats cross regularly to the Ness between 10am & 2pm only, the last ferry leaving the Ness at 5pm. Steep and slippery steps (height influenced by tides) when embarking or disembarking from motor launch. Access around the site is on foot only, but a trailer bus operates first Sat of the month July-Sept, booking essential (not a guided tour). Numbers limited. Some military buildings (eg 'pagodas') accessible only on guided events. No dogs or cycles.
