Address

Details

Elgar's choral masterpiece presented by Beccles Choral Society and Gippeswyk Singers, accompanied by the Lambeth Orchestra.
Prepare to have your heart strings tugged by the sheer beauty and emotion of what is considered to be Elgar's finest choral work.
Soloists: Claire Weston (former principal soprano with ENO), Richard Edgar Wilson (internationally acclaimed tenor) and Phillip Tebb (outstanding oratorio bass soloist). Conducted by Geoff Lavery.
Elgar wrote the Dream of Gerontius in 1900, and set the music to a poem by John Henry Newman which follows a soul's journey through death to find enlightenment and the glory of God, guided by an Angel. Elgar himeslf said, "This is the best of me. I have written my hearts's blood into the score."
