Christchurch Mansion is built on the site of the Holy Trinity Priory, which was founded in the 12th Century. The building has changed over the years with various occupants adding their own stamp with the fashions of the time, resulting in the spectacular mansion we see today.

From intriguing toys in the Victorian nursery to paintings by renowned Suffolk artists Gainsborough and Constable, there is lots to see in this magnificent Tudor mansion. Discover furniture, ceramics and more, all displayed in atmospheric period rooms. Situated in the stunning surroundings of Christchurch Park in the heart of Ipswich, the mansion also has its own tea room.

Within the Mansion, the Wolsey Art Gallery offers a programme of changing exhibitions, featuring objects from the Ipswich collections as well as incredible loans. Past exhibitions include ‘Thomas Wolsey: Ipswich’s Greatest Son’ and ‘Kiss and Tell: Rodin and Suffolk Sculpture’.

Mondays: Closed

During the winter months from November to February, the Mansion will close at 4pm.
