The UK’s ONLY FREE beachfront festival taking place on Lowestoft’s South Beach across Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June
First Light Festival has made its name as the ultimate showcase for creative talent, accessible to all. Since it’s inception in 2019, First Light has seen over 1890 acts perform across their festivals, 145k people have attended and the festival has impacted and supported creative talent year on year with over 70 new and emerging artists featured throughout the festivals, many of which have gone on to perform at Latitude and Glastonbury festivals, among others.
First Light Festival’s outdoor weekend programme is free, un-ticketed and for all. This year’s music line up includes Nubiyan Twist, Girls of the Internet, Molotov Jukebox, Caswell, Kim Carnie, Merry Hell and more.
Plus there’s poetry from Jackie Kay and Brian Bilston, dance courtesy of DanceEast and Laurence Edwards returns as part of Messums’ East’s Sculpture in the Sands programme.
As the sun goes down, the Festival moves into venues in the town. Head to Mossy’s for an exclusive DJ set from Horse Meat Disco, enjoy an intimate gig with Kim Carnie at Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Jazz Club, listen to live bands at East Point Pavilion or head to St Peter & St John Church for an atmospheric mix of contemporary classical and acoustic music in beautiful surroundings.
First Light Festival is also the only Festival where you can camp on the beach. Camping under the stars at First Light offers the unique opportunity to stay on the UK’s most easterly beach, a stones-throw from the Festival site. Pitch your tent next to the sea, arrive in your campervan and take in the views and enjoy the full festival experience.
And make sure you set your alarm (or stay up!) for dawn – unique celebration of sunrise in the most easterly place in the UK…
