Owned and run by Adnams, The Swan dates from the 1600s, but there’s been brewing on site here for at least 670 years.
The Adnams brewery was established in 1872, at the same time as The Swan was purchased by brothers Ernest and George Adnams.
Over 600 years of brewing history means that The Swan is steeped in beer – not literally! – but you’ll find references to brewing and distilling throughout the hotel.
