Pod Hollow West Stow Pods Suffolk

A unique bolthole in Suffolk: introducing Pod Hollow

With more of us seeking out the unusual when it comes to holiday boltholes, finding something alternative can be challenging. But here in Suffolk being different is our norm, constantly seek the extraordinary in a way that complements our natural environment.

In the Suffolk countryside at West Stow (Anglo Saxon for “deserted place”) is West Stow Pods, a family-run business presenting well-considered holiday lodgings. The glamping site includes four Megapods and a woodland lodge. But nestled in the side of a greeny knoll is Pod Hollow; a magical half-subterranean dwelling, one can’t help thinking straight out of a Tolkien novel. Approached through a wooded pathway, one of its most striking characteristics is the circular doorway (You just know what's inside is going to be special).

Head inside and you’ll be overwhelmed by its quirkiness, curved walls and ‘hobbit-style’ memorabilia and furniture. Full of character, yet practical, too, Pod Hollow happily fits a family of four or two couples (there are two double beds). If the weather is fine, make use of the barbecue out front or taste your way through the local eateries. For more choice, head further afield and explore the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, which is just 6 miles away.

This 360-degree of Pod Hollow allows you to feel like you're already there! Check it out here
