When a county has an abundance of creative individuals, it is likely to have a lively programme of events to celebrate them too. There is no shortage of craft fairs and workshops in Suffolk and below we have picked out some for you to visit this autumn.

SOUTHWOLD ARTISAN CRAFT MARKET AT SOUTHWOLD UNITED REFORM CHURCH HALL

This fair is a guaranteed stocking filler this Christmas. Expect a selection of local crafts including textiles, pebble art, stained glass, jewellery, natural products, paper cutting, homemade cards, sun catchers and more. More importantly, our four-legged friends are welcome and refreshments are available.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT MARKET AT CLARE TOWN HALL

Over the last nine years, Clare Craft Markets have earned themselves a fantastic reputation. Attracting a range of stallholders from across East Anglia, all items sold are carefully hand crafted by the person who is selling them. From ceramics, original art work, papercrafts, felting, handmade candles to silver jewellery and lots more.

These fabulous craft markets, with lovely Pop Up Cafe, take place in the beautiful Suffolk town of Clare. You'll find the Town Hall right in the centre of town.

FREE LANTERN WORKSHOP AT THE KING EDWARD VII MEMORIAL HALL, Newmarket

If you've ever had the desire to learn a skill on a budget, pop along to the free lantern workshop at the King Edward VII Memorial Hall this October. The best bit - your lantern creation will join the Lantern Parade at the Big Christmas Lights Switch-on on Friday 16th November.

WOOLVERSTONE PENNINSULA CRAFT WEEKEND AT WOOLVERSTONE HALL

Set in the historic building and grounds of Woolverstone, the annual autumn exhibition covers anything from cermaic and fabric to quilts, fashion accessories, cushions, fused glass to crochet garments. The perfect antidote to people who 'have everything'!

Experience new crafts and skills, and get to meet the artists and artisans to see how some of the work is created. Originality threads through the event, providing a perfect range of early Christmas gifts. And more importantly, the essentials are covered: tea, coffee and cakes provide an essential energy boost to help you make the most of the fair.

CRAFT & FOOD FAIR 2018 AT HADLEIGH GUILDHALL

The ever-popular Hadleigh Craft & Food Fair, hosted in the fabulous medieval Hadleigh Guildhall, is the perfect Christmas-filler event; selling crafts, gifts and  Christmas decorations. 

Take a breather and wonder around this ancient maket town with its historic pubs, independent shops and eateries. The crenellated turrets and chimneys of the historic Deanery Tower are most impressive!
