English National Sheepdog Trials 2017

English National Sheepdog Trials Come to Suffolk

The 2017 English National Sheepdog Trials event is coming to Suffolk from 28th – 30th July. It's the first time the trials have been held in Suffolk and the venue is the picturesque Haughley Park near Stowmarket in the Heart of Suffolk.

The ever-popular event is a competition between 150 English sheepdogs and their handlers for the chance to represent England at the International Sheepdog Trials, which takes place each year in September.

Suffolk on Show

Running alongside the trials, will be Suffolk On Show – an event to showcase the best of what Suffolk has to offer in food and drink, agriculture, heritage and crafts.

There will be lots of visitor information on offer too, as well as competitions to win a short break and other goodies. Head to the Heart of Suffolk stand in the Suffolk on Show tent to find out more.

The organisers are offering five pairs of tickets to be won for each day of the event. Scroll down for details...

Suffolk Food and Drink

As you would expect in #TheFoodieCounty, there will be lots of locally produced food and drink to tantalize the taste buds.

The Suffolk Baa will serve up Suffolk-made drink, including pure craft beers from Calvors Brewery, ales from Adnams in Southwold, Refreshing cyders from Aspall in Debenham and fruit liqueurs from DJ Wines who are based in Monk Soham.

There is even a drink created especially for the event: The Suffolk’s Summer Punch is a secret recipe of fruit, liqueurs, bubbles and ice. Sounds refreshing!

Suffolk food on offer ranges from award-winning ice creams from Alder Tree, delicious fudge from Yum Yum Tree Fudge Ltd, cakes and bakes from the Chocolate Tiger Coffee Co and a whole menu of other locally made treats.
