Food & Drink Festivals in Suffolk this Autumn

When a county has an abundance of superb food and drink producers, it is likely to have a lively programme of events to celebrate them too. Newmarket Open Weekend

Look out for the Newmarket Open Weekend Food and Drink Festival on the 16th and 17th September.

Described as 'a traditional food and drink fayre with a truly modern offering' there will be top chefs, cooking demonstrations and many food producers from across the region will be offering their mouthwatering merchandise for sale. Wine expert Oz Clarke will be there, along with food writer Sophie Grigson and celebrity chef Theo Randall.

Food and Drink Forknight in Ipswich

There's also the Food and Drink Forknight in Ipswich from 18th September to 1st October. This is going to be a two-week extravaganza to tantalise the tastebuds, so loosen your belt and prepare to eat your way around Suffolk's county town.

Love jazz? Love pizza? Mix them together at the Morphology event on 22nd September hosted by Red Rose Chain. Find the most gin-teresting cocktails the town has to offer; tuck into Bavarian food and beer at the Corn Exchange Oktoberfest or take an afternoon tea river cruise on the Orwell Lady. Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival

The ever-popular Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival takes place on 23rd and 24th September.

Based at the beautiful Snape Maltings on the River Alde, there will be over 90 food and drink producers from Suffolk and plenty of tastings, cookery demonstrations, workshops and children's activities.

Don't miss the new exhibition area on 'Wild Suffolk' with camp fire cooking, a food writers' corner, and a host of 'wild wizards' creating delicious concoctions and sharing their knowledge.

The Framlingham Sausage Festival

Pop along to The Framlingham Sausage Festival on Sunday 8th October to celebrate the great British banger. There will be a range of sizzling sausages for visitors to try and buy, with plenty of entertainment for the whole family too – stalls, workshops and children's activities.

Saints Oktoberfest in Ipswich

Later on in the autumn, there is another opportunity to enjoy Bavarian beer, wine and German street food at the Saints Oktoberfest in Ipswich on 27th and 28th October.
