Suffolk Craft Society Summer Exhibition
Suffolk makers will be exhibiting their crafts again this summer at the annual Suffolk Craft Society Exhibition during July and August, which is always a highlight in the county's contemporary arts and crafts calendar.
First established in 1970, the event will be held in the Peter Pears Gallery in the coastal town of Aldeburgh from 15th July - 28th August.

The society has over 100 designer-makers as members, most of whom will be showing and selling their work at the summer exhibition.
The application process for becoming a member of the society is rigorous and ensures makers have achieved the highest of standards in their technical skills, innovation and creativity. There is also a requirement for applicants to be either resident in Suffolk, or to have strong links with the county, which means anyone buying a piece of work from the exhibition, will be going home with a genuine “handmade in Suffolk” souvenir.
There will be something for all budgets with prices ranging from just a few pounds for small pieces of pottery, handmade bags and textiles for the home, to larger sums for precious jewellery, glass work, framed prints, sculpture, furniture and woven wall hangings.
The makers themselves will be running the exhibition on a day-to-day basis, giving visitors an opportunity to talk to them about their craft and finding out about their creative process.

Talks and Demonstrations
Makers talking about and demonstrating their work during the two-month event include glass artist Clare Gayland on Wednesday, 19th July and lino cuts artist Helen Maxfield on Saturday, 29th July and Saturday, 12th August.
There will also be a prize draw to win some craft pieces donated by members of the society and tickets will be available to purchase at the exhibition.
