The Maybush Inn (c) Adnams

What better way to spend a sunny day in Suffolk than working up an appetite on a walk through the countryside or along the coast, before finishing up at a great pub? Not much – at least that’s what we think, which is why we’re so pleased that Adnams has teamed up with the online walks library iFootpath to create a series of eleven pubs walks in Suffolk!

As well as its excellent beers, which are brewed just metres from the sea in Southwold, Adnams is renowned for its cosy pubs, 35 of which can be found dotted along the Suffolk coast and in the Suffolk Wool Towns. Between these pubs there lie stretches of heritage countryside to be explored, including the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, crisscrossed by some excellent trails. That’s where iFootpath comes in.
iFootpath was the creation of husband and wife team, Richard Jemmett and Claire Sharp. The couple enjoys walking so much they decided to compile an online library of walks from around the UK, so that anyone and everyone can enjoy a great walk, when close to home or visiting a somewhere new.
In collaboration with Adnams, iFootpath have produced 11 pub walks featuring 15 great Adnams hostelries, either as refreshment stops along the way or as an end destination for a hearty pub lunch.
The pub walks come with step-by-step instructions, photography and information about the history and environment of the area that enriches your walking experience tenfold. And you’ll be glad to know that each of the walks has been tested for doggy-friendliness by Richard and Claire’s four-legged friend, Bobbie Dog!
What’s more, you can find the Adnams pub walks on the iFootpath app, which allows you to track your real-time progress on the satellite map of the route, and add your comments and ratings of the walks. A truly 21st century walking experience!
You can download the iFootpath app here, or download the individual pub walks using the links on the Adnams website.
