The local golf courses in Suffolk are a rival for anywhere nationwide. With top golfers often making the pilgrimage up to ‘England’s Golf Coast’, Suffolk actually gives this cluster of courses a run for its money. With three courses present in the much coveted top 100 UK golf courses list - namely Aldeburgh, Ipswich and Woodbridge - you can test yourself on each of these in a short visit to the county, with each course just 20 minutes apart.

PGA's choice
The Hintlesham Golf Club boasts one of the finest golf courses in the PGA's Eastern Region and is served by an excellent Clubhouse. The par 72 layout includes the two special challenges of the signature 4th and 17th holes. The 17th hole is believed by most to be one of the best finishes in the region, providing a range of skills and surrounded by stunning scenery.
The golf course shares an estate with one of England's most renowned country house hotels, allowing you to play and stay in absolute comfort.

Located just outside of the town centre, Bury St Edmunds Golf Course is an award-winning 18-hole course for members with a 9-hole pay and play course and driving range, while the course at the All Saints Hotel is considered to be one of the most picturesque in Suffolk, with the River Lark flowing through the parkland.
For smaller courses, pay a visit to Flempton Golf Course; established in 1895, the heathland course features pine trees, gorse and woodland and takes the form of a cloverleaf, or try the course at Clare; appealing to all abilities it is a par 3, 9 hole course which meanders around a lake.

Founded in 1880, Felixstowe Golf Club is the only links golf course in Suffolk and one of only 246 true links courses in the world, with stunning scenes of the coast, Martello towers and the Port of Felixstowe.
