Description
Early in the 19th century a Martello tower was built, which was later a home for coastguards, and there are some whitewashed coastguard cottages.
Shingle Street was once home to fishermen and river pilots who navigated boats along the River Ore.
Scenes for the Danny Boyle movie Yesterday were filmed here.
