Discover the Heart of Suffolk

Discover an area of Suffolk with rolling countryside, meandering rivers, pretty towns, and un-spoilt villages, this is the Heart of Suffolk.

Step back into history when you visit the medieval Wool Towns.  Lavenham, Debenham, Long Melford, and Hadleigh are some of the best-preserved and prettiest in the Country.  The wooden framed houses were built during the peak of the wool trade and the towns and villages were amongst the richest places in the country.

It is an area loved by artists, maybe following in the footsteps of the world-famous artist, John Constable?  He was born here and it is where he painted his most celebrated works.  The area, now affectionately known as Constable Country, is as picturesque as anywhere else in Britain.

Walkers, cyclists, and water enthusiasts will feel like they are in paradise here.  With a choice of lakes and a peninsula dividing two rivers, there are plenty of ways to explore the area either on a paddleboard or by canoe.  Walking trails will take you deep into the Suffolk countryside and for cyclists, the lure of country lanes and gentle hills will prove irresistible.
