Primadonna Festival 2023

Primadonna: a festival for people who love books. And ideas. And interesting conversations. And music in the sunshine. And good food in a field. And comedy and cabaret and workshops for the mind, body and soul.

The Primadonna festival returns to the Food Museum in Stowmarket at the end of July for another weekend of books, big ideas and alternative entertainment.

Featuring Jacqueline Crooks introducing her Women’s Prize-shortlisted debut novel Fire Rush; popstar-turned-published-author JB Gill (formerly of boy band JLS) with his new kids’ character book; Emma Kennedy, best-selling author, actor, presenter and Celebrity Masterchef champion; award-winning journalist Angela Saini; actor Rebecca Humphries who will talk with friend and Limelight author Daisy Buchanan; Miki Berenyi, frontwoman of 90s Britpop phenomenon Lush; actor and author Andi Osho; bestselling political writer Ian Dunt, with his book How Westminster Works (…and Why It Doesn’t); and many more award-winning and bestselling authors including Diana Evans, Rowan Hisayo Buchanan, Joanna Cannon, Adele Parks, Patrice Lawrence and Joanne Harris.

Primadonna has something for everyone: brilliant people talking about the things they really care about, and thinking about positive change.

There’s also loads of stuff for kids, including wood carving, graffiti workshops and bread baking plus appearances by The Ministry of Unladylike Activity, Captain Loo Roll and Rapunzella.

And if you’re a writer, or you want to be, Primadonna can help you realise your literary dreams: meet an agent, chat to a publisher or take part in writing challenges and workshops over the whole weekend.

Everyone is welcome at Primadonna, especially those that might not think a book festival is ‘for them’. Come along to find out more.
