Larks Rest

Larks Rest

59 Old Street,
IP14 3NT

Recently restored Larks Rest is a 16th century thatched cottage full of cosy character, with exposed beams, original windows and an English cottage decor to suit. There's a large garden to the rear, that catches the sun throughout the day, with lavender beds and seating, so you can enjoy the floral aroma and gentle humming of the bumblebees while relaxing, perhaps with a glass of wine in hand.

Situated in the picturesque village of Haughley, Larks Rest has some excellent amenities close at hand. The village bakery Palmer's, first established in 1869, can provide a sweet or savoury treat as well as your daily bread and the local pub The Kings Arms, has an excellent selection of quaffable ales, wines and spirits and is a foodie's dream, with their mouthwatering seasonal menu and welcoming staff. There is also a small Co-Op, Post Office, Indian restaurant and beauty salon within strolling distance.

The cottage itself has one double bedroom with linen, towels and complimentary toiletries supplied and a bathroom with a bath and shower head attachment. There is a television located downstairs in the living room along with books and DVDs. The country style kitchen is fully functioning with gas cooker, microwave, fridge with a freezer compartment, toaster and kettle and there is also a welcome hamper provided on arrival with a few bits to get you started. Wi-Fi is available throughout the cottage.

There's plenty to explore in the area, with the cathedral town of Bury St Edmunds a 15 minute drive away where you can walk amidst the Abbey ruins, take a tour of the Green Kine brewery and gentle mill about the market town that has plenty of excellent restaurants and bars to choose from. Also, the coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are under an hour away. If you wish to catch a fresh sea breeze. Well known historical sites in Suffolk such as Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Kentwell Hall and Helmingham Hall are all easily accessible, as Larks Rest is located not far from the A14.
