Details
We are a working farm, we moved from Essex in 1999 and set up a free range egg business. On the farm we have chickens and sheep, plus a few cattle. While staying with us you will be able to see where your eggs come from. If you are lucky and come during lambing time you and the family might be able to feed the lambs.
The tents are based around African safari tents, perfect for families and friends to get back to nature. The lodges are comfortable and include everything required to make your stay special. We believe that they are the best canvas accommodation you will find anywhere. We have two lodges, each has a double bed in the master room, a bunkroom and a a custom made cabin double bed which has double doors opening either into the living room or the bunkroom. We also have a futon in the living area to make it eight bedded. Each lodge has its own flush away toilet plus a shower at the back.
Each lodge is fully equipped and comes with a wood buring stove and if you wake up in the morning and do not feel like waiting for the wood burning stove to heat up we have an electric plate. we believe that we have thought of everything to make your stay special.
We also have a small farm shop where you will be able to buy our homegrown meat, plus eggs, preserves and other items.
From the tent you are in walking distance of the River Waveney, the Locks Pub and The Wherry. In addition, if you cycled to our units we are near the market towns of Beccles and Bungay. Beccles has an outdoor heated swimming pool on the River Waveney and superb independent shops , here you would be able to hire a boat or canoe, Bungay has the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum nearby, the castle and indoor pool.
We are also 30mins from the popular seaside resort of Southwold, close to Halesworth, 30mins from Norwich and very close to the Broads.
Other attractions to the area are BeWilderwood, Fritton Lake, Africa Alive, Banham Zoo, Adnams Brewery & Distillery Tours, Snape Maltings, Somerleyton Hall and Gardens, Minsmere Nature Reserve, Dunwich Heath, Coastal Voyager, Oasis Camel Centre, High Lodge shooting and Golf Centre, Moo Play Barn and Pleasurewood Hills.
