Details

As we are focussing on Tippett this year, we look at another of his most famous works: his remarkable opera The Knot Garden, premiered to rapturous critical acclaim in Covent Garden in 1970. As in so many other works, Tippett explores relationships and personal journeys but the orchestration and musical language in this opera is innovative and bracingly modern. With Lucy Walker and Tippett biographer Oliver Soden.
