Nowton Park's night sky

Nowton Park's night sky

Laura Bushell

01284 758113

Nowton Road,
Bury St Edmunds,

Join members of the Athenaeum Astronomy Association Society who will introduce specific aspects of the night sky in October, finding and identifying a number of prominent constellations, nebula, star clusters and galaxies as they are seen through different kinds of telescopes and binoculars and via astrophotography. Indoors there will be a talk and a range of activities and workshops for people to try or see - something to suit all ages and abilities.

There also will be an opportunity to talk with AAA members, and to view some of the night sky images they have taken.

We’ll be situated in the heart of Nowton Park, well away from light sources to maximise our chance of viewing.

-The event will still go ahead in unfavourable conditions but with greater emphasis on indoor activities.
-Suitable for all ages.
-All children must be supervised.
-Please wear suitable outdoor clothing.
-Please bring a head torch for walking to and from event.
-Please park in the main Nowton Park car park and follow the guided path to the Walled Garden.

Children welcome
