Details

The annual Maritime Festival 2019 returns on Saturday 27 July, 11am – 6pm promising new and exciting attractions around Harwich Quay and Harwich’s iconic Ha’penny Pier.
The much-loved festival will reflect both the town’s rich maritime history and its vibrant creative community, with an exciting sea and land based programme intended to attract thousands of people from across Essex and Suffolk.

Organised by Harwich Haven Authority and Harwich RNLI, there will be over 50 traders, live entertainment and must-see water based activities going on throughout the day.

By Car:
Take the A14 towards Felixstowe. At the large roundabout beside the water tower (junction 60), turn right, remaining on the A14 (the Port of Felixstowe road). Then at the next roundabout go straight on towards the town centre. Cross over the railway level crossing, then turn right at the traffic lights onto Langer Road.

From Langer/Carr Road (just after passing the Suffolk Sands Caravan Park), turn left onto View Point Road. This road (with speed bumps) will take you down to the main car parks for the Fort.

By Public Transport:
FirstGroup bus route 77 from/to Ipswich drops you off right outside Landguard Fort on View Point Road. This bus also stops opposite Great Eastern Square which is convenient for the Felixstowe train station. The train station at Felixstowe town centre is 2½ miles away from the Landguard Peninsula.
