West Stow A Celebration

West Stow A Celebration

West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village

Icklingham Road,
West Stow,
Bury St Edmunds,
IP28 6HG

West Stow opens its doors with FREE entry to help celebrate 1,600 years since the Anglo-Saxons settled.

Based on the ground-breaking work of archaeologist Dr Stanley West and many academics over the past 40 years, the location at West Stow unearthed an early pagan settlement circa 420ad.

This is a chance to explore the village and museum, meet the staff and volunteers and find out about all the exciting new village and park projects. Plus, updates on new experimental archaeology planned for the site in the next 5 years.

Find out about this outstanding historical reconstruction project that has been evolving over the past 4 decades. Discover the past and learn more about the lives and deaths of our ancestors.

Tours, talks, handling sessions, family activities are all part of this celebration weekend. A taster of what’s to come in 2020 and beyond!

Parking fees apply, but entry to the village and museum is free for this event.
