Details

A series of performers are set to entrance young audiences in a series of workshops at the Longshed, Woodbridge, throughout the school holidays.
The events – 10 one-hour workshops - have been arranged by Woodbridge Riverside Trust in conjunction with professional storytellers who will bring local legends to life as well as explore tales from further afield.
Professional performer Justine de Mierre will run six workshops on Tuesday afternoons in July and August and audiences can expect stories including a wildman from Orford, river dragons from China and piratical skulduggery from Italy.
She will also perform some ‘extreme storytelling’ where she improvises a brand-new story on the spot from audience suggestions.
Playwright and screenwriter Peppy Barlow and Rosie Walker, Live Interpretation Officer at Gressenhall Farm and Workshop, will run four workshops at the end of the holidays using old tales and ideas from the audience to craft a new odyssey rooted in the banks, tides and landmarks of the River Deben.
The sessions, which are being sponsored by Suffolk Cottage Holidays and The Arts Society Woodbridge, will be held in the John Gibbins Gallery at the Longshed with audience numbers of no more than 40 people.
